The Bob Bender Memorial Scholarship Award
The Bob Bender Memorial Scholarship Award is given in honor
of Bob’s memory to a deserving Western New York BOCES Student each year. Bob attended the Boces Welding School
during his high school years and turned what he learned there and his talents
into a number of successful businesses in his later years. He earned the respect of many through
his work ethic and his many skills.
No challenge was too great.
This year’s scholarship is sponsored by Gray Tools and is
being awarded to Robert Hastrich of Akron, NY. We feel Robert is also a hard working, deserving young man,
headed in the same direction. He’s
an honor roll student, driving from Akron NY to West Seneca Boces for Welding
classes each day, in addition to attending and graduating from the Akron High
School while holding down a job on the side. We feel Bob would agree that Robert is deserving of this
award and cheer him on to much success.
Bob’s brother Tim Bender will present the Award to Robert.

Bonus money added to tonight’s purse bringing the total purse to over $8000.00.
